Gravesend & Northfleet striker Charlie MacDonald is hoping he can end the season as the Nationwide Conference top scorer ahead of Dagenham's Paul Benson.

The former Charlton trainee currently has 27 goals to his name and needs at least two more goals to overtake Benson.

Ironically enough, these two frontmen will line up opposite each other on Saturday for the last round of fixtures in the Nationwide conference season.

"First and foremost, we have to get the result we need," MacDonald told Kent Online.

"But of course, every forward wants to get the Golden Boot, and I'm no different.

"I'll be looking to score again on Saturday. I would love to win it, I won't lie, but if I do my job, then it means the team are doing their job."
